D’Assern Housing
Affordable Staff Housing
The Children’s Village built and continues to operate the D’Assern Housing complex in Dobbs Ferry, which has 112 beautiful apartments located just off The Children’s Village residential campus. The apartments range from studios to three-bedrooms in 14 two-story garden-style buildings on a 7 acre site. Children living in the apartments attend the Dobbs Ferry public schools.
Thanks to $4.9 million in financing by the New York State Housing Finance Agency and the New York State Housing Corp, the complex was renovated in 2010. Renovations included replacement of roofs, installation of new windows, new sidewalks and driveways, new boilers, new kitchen and bath fixtures, and electrical wiring.
Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins, who supported this award, stated, “This is a community investment with immeasurable benefits and signals a strong commitment from all of us working together for affordable housing. The key to maintaining the economic well-being of our communities is providing affordable housing for working families, and I am pleased that the New York State Housing Finance Agency and New York State Affordable Housing Corporation have awarded this significant grant to The Children’s Village in support of a much-needed renovation project.”
