Community Programs

Foster Homes

Foster care can be a time for families to heal and grow. Our job is to keep children safe and well cared for, and return them to family as soon as possible.

Family Support

Children belong with families. We support families who are at-risk of having children placed in foster care with in-home therapy, workshops, and support groups.

New York City Schools

We work with students in their school to provide pregnancy prevention and sexual health education, help them become leaders, and help them make good decisions. We work with more than 25 schools and reach close to 2,000 students.

Transformative Mentoring

We believe that young people do best with guidance from someone who has walked in their shoes. Credible Messengers, staff who have been in foster care or juvenile justice, support and guide participants.

Drew Hamilton Center

This vibrant center in the heart of Harlem offers after-school programs for kids and teens, family and intergenerational programs, as well as a summer camp in Westchester.

Teen Outreach

Using credible messengers, we engage teens who might not seek help. We help them get them off the streets, get to a safe place physically and emotionally, and find their first job.

Harlem Clemente Course

The nationally-recognized Clemente Course provides college-level Humanities courses to adult students in challenging economic circumstances who have not had access to higher education.
