Inwood House merges with The Children’s Village
The Children’s Village is pleased to announce that its merger with Inwood House, a 186-year-old New York City charity specializing in pregnant and parenting teens and pregnancy prevention, was finalized December 31, 2016. “We are delighted to welcome the Inwood House staff and programs into the CV family,” said Jeremy Kohomban, President and CEO of The Children’s Village. “IH programs complement those of CV and, together, we will be a stronger agency able to offer children, teens, and families more comprehensive services.”
The Inwood House programs have become a division within The Children’s Village named “Inwood House at The Children’s Village.” The division is headed by Deborah Giordano, who has been embedded at Inwood House for the past two years and has led the transition team. Inwood House trustees Katrina Dudley and Kathryn O’Neal-Dunham joined the CV Board in 2106, and an additional Inwood House trustee will join the CV Board this year. The IH Corporate Advisory Board, which is an active group that provides substantial support for IH programs, has become the CV Corporate Advisory Board supporting both CV and historically IH programming.
The merger was completed with assistance from the Booth Ferris Foundation and the New York Merger, Acquisition, and Collaboration Fund.
