New Chairman of the Board of Trustees

PAUL JENKEL ELECTED AS CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE CHILDREN’S VILLAGE

NEW YORK, NY — June 25, 2012 – Paul Jenkel from Chappaqua has been elected Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The Children’s Village. A Trustee since 1993, Mr. Jenkel formerly served as a Vice Chair and Treasurer. Using his experience as a member of several Board committees and a career in investment management he will collaborate with other Trustees and senior staff to provide leadership as The Village continues to expand its important work.

“I have a long association with The Children’s Village and have great respect for its long history and mission of caring for vulnerable children and families,” said Mr. Jenkel regarding his new role. Prior to retiring, Mr. Jenkel was Senior Vice President at Alliance Capital Management Corp. He holds a Masters Degree from New York University and a Bachelors Degree from Colgate University. Mr. Jenkel’s family is also an important part of The Children’s Village as his wife Barbara has been a full-time volunteer in our assistance dog program for more than fifteen years.

“This is an exciting time for The Children’s Village as we continue to transform and expand our work with children and families into the communities where they live,” said Dr. Jeremy Kohomban, President and CEO.  “I am grateful to have the leadership of a Board of Trustees, and our new Chairman, who have the knowledge, passion, and expertise to help us continue to change lives.”

Mr. Jenkel will be replacing long-time board member Bill Krupman who has served the board for 37 years, including the past 9 as Chairman. Bill has served on almost every standing committee, led the effort to increase aftercare for all youth leaving our residential school, and has been a visionary leader in expanding the organization’s mission nationally and internationally.
