A Season of Generosity: Providing Thanksgiving Meals to New Yorkers

December 2024 – At The Children’s Village (CV), we believe that no one should go without a warm meal, especially during the holiday season. We were honored to collaborate with community-minded organizations like KULU Foundation, Mastercard, Morgan Stanley, The Masters School, St. Francis Food Pantry, and many others to meet the needs of young people and families.

This Thanksgiving, CV and the KULU Foundation once again partnered to bring holiday cheer to CV’s NYC based programs and families across Harlem. On November 22, the KULU Foundation hosted a special Thanksgiving giveaway, providing 1,500 turkeys to families and young people who deserve to feel the spirit and joy of the holiday season.

CV chatted with Matt Staubi, President and Co-Founder of the KULU Foundation, who shared his insights on the origins of this impactful partnership and the powerful difference it makes for families every year.

How did you connect with CV and what inspired this partnership?
We initially connected with CV through research and outreach in 2022. Our first call introduced us to their incredible holiday events, where they make a tangible difference for families in need. We knew we had to be part of this mission to spread kindness and connection.

What has been the impact of the Thanksgiving drive on families?
The gratitude we see on the faces of families is a reminder of why we do this work. Families have shared how meaningful it is to gather around a full meal, an experience they may not have had in past years. In our first year, some individuals shared with local media how they felt remembered and valued. CV continues to foster this feeling of love and community, helping each person know they are not alone.

How has CV contributed to this mission of transformation?
We view CV as a partner in the truest sense: an organization that shares our values and desire to continue to support those in need. CV provided us with an opportunity to feed people for Thanksgiving and gave us the chance to grow and learn from them.

Change a child's life.
