Spring 2014 News from the Village
After school lets out, fifteen rowdy fourth graders fly through the swinging kitchen doors at CV’s Polo Grounds Community Center, eager to prepare their after-school snack. The kids take one look at Chef Richard Krause, their Culinary Arts teacher, standing tall and serious at the head of the long stainless steel table, and lower their energy, fasten their aprons, quietly select a work station, and patiently await instructions. It’s clear that they have been taught the rules of working in a crowded, hot, restaurant-style kitchen. Rowdy jostling isn’t going to work…
