Student Volunteers

Tutoring

Student role-models work one-on-one as tutors for our youth to help with homework, preparing for state tests, or improving specific subject areas. We welcome individual tutors or groups of students who want to tutor together. The commitment for tutors is 1 day per week for an hour and a half in the evenings or after school.

School-Based Mentoring

High school student volunteers will be matched with residents between 1st and 6th grades for the entire school year from September to May. This program offers our youth opportunities for academic enrichment and social skills development. Mentor/resident pairs participate in theme-based learning projects geared towards increasing residents’ skills in the areas of reading, writing, critical thinking and public speaking. Your input and participation are crucial to the program’s success. School Based Mentoring takes place on Tuesdays for the entire school year (October – May) from 4:00 – 5:30pm.

Office Assistant

We always welcome an extra set of hands in our program or administrative offices to assist with clerical work and office chores.
