The Community Center at the Polo Grounds Towers is a vibrant, multi-generational center that provides children and families with a place to call their own. Throughout the year, the Community Center brings residents together through fun educational activities, exciting cultural trips, and engaging programming for all ages.
Since January 2010, The Children’s Village has worked with residents to develop programs that support families, children, and teens as they grow into the future leaders of the community. As a center point in the Polo Grounds Towers, the Community Center helps an already strong community grow even stronger by opening a world of possibilites to our friends and neighbors.
For Families!
Families are stronger when they spend quality time together. The Community Center holds weekly events for families to do just that. Community Bingo, Family Game Nights, and Fun Filled Fridays are just a few of the ongoing activities. Annual events like the Community Health Awareness Day and the Back-to-School Jam bring neighbors together for a day to connect with local businesses and partners. And the annual talent show when community members show off their skills to family and friends is very popular.

For Teens!
The teen program is the place to be on weekday evenings from 7-10pm. Teens ages 13-21 are welcome to come and make the Community Center their own. While they are here meeting new people, they also have the chance to get involved in new things like fitness classes, boxing, boys and girls club, and step-dancing. The teen program is where to be to hang out with friends, stay off the street, and have a great time.
For Kids!
During the school year, an after-school program is available for kids between the ages of 5-12.With tons of opportunities, there is something for everyone! Some of our most popular programs include homework help, technology workshops, hip-hop dance, step, and yoga. No matter what kids choose, they always have fun and learn something new.
For Summer!
The summer in New York City is hot, so the Community Center gives kids ages 5-12 the opportunity to cool off at our summer camp. The camp is a free, full day of activities to beat the heat on our beautiful campus is Dobbs Ferry. The program is full of summer-fun activities including swimming lessons, slip n’ slides, basketball, kickball, and hiking. In addition, campers take field trips two times per week to exciting places such as amusement parks, museums, and movie theaters.
