Father Benedict Groeschel

Father Benedict Groeschel received a Masters Degree in Counseling from Iona College, then went on to pursue a Doctorate in Psychology from Columbia University. From 1960 to 1974 Father Benedict was Chaplain at the CV campus in Dobbs Ferry. In 1987 he and eight Capuchin Friars founded the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal, with the consent of Cardinal O’Connor. He is best known for his writings, lectures, and retreats. Father Benedict is the author of numerous books and publications and has his own weekly television show, “Get a Life in Christ”. He is a member of the Board of Directors for Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio.
Father Ben, as he is affectionaly called, is still very much invovled with Children’s Village. He stays in touch with many alumni, visits the children on Christmas day, and says Mass at the chapel when available.
