David W. Smith

Mr. Smith is President of the American Society of Corporate Secretaries, Inc. Prior to joining the Society, Smith was Founder, President and Publisher of Confetti Magazine and President and CEO of Seligman & Latz, Inc.’s Domestic Salon Division. He served as the Director of Wiltwyck, a residential treatment center founded by Eleanor Roosevelt and as the Chairman of a major gifts campaign for the American Cancer Society. Smith lectures and writes extensively about corporate governance and securities regulation. He is a graduate of Amherst College, the New York University School of Law and the Executive Management Program at Harvard University. He joined the Board of Trustees for CV in 2009.

Mr. Smith and his family are involved with The Children’s Village beyond Smith’s position as trustee. He and his wife, Cheryl, have been mentors, and his son, Noah, has served on the Leadership Council since 2010.
